On August 5, 2021, the “China-Türkiye Economic, Trade and Cultural Development Forum for the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations” was held in Ankara. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a congratulatory message to the forum. The heads of relevant departments of China and Türkiye attended the forum online or offline and delivered speeches. Chinese Ambassador to Türkiye Liu Shaobin was present at the forum.
In his speech, Ambassador Liu Shaobin said that it is of special significance to hold this forum on the occasion of 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Türkiye. Over the past 50 years, China-Türkiye relations have developed steadily, with greater political mutual trust, fruitful practical cooperation and wide-ranging people-to-people and cultural exchanges. This has promoted the comprehensive development of China-Türkiye strategic cooperative relations and brought tangible benefits to the two countries and their peoples.
Ambassador Liu Shaobin noted that economic and trade cooperation is an important driving force for China-Türkiye friendship. With advancing of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Türkiye’s Middle Corridor Plan, the two countries will seek greater strategic synergy and improve the level of concrete cooperation so as to contribute to the revitalization of the Eurasian continent and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. People-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation serve as the foundation for long-term development of China-Türkiye friendly relations. The two sides should continue to expand exchanges and cooperation to further enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples and win more public support for the development of bilateral relations.
Ambassador Liu Shaobin stated that standing at a new historical starting point, China is willing to work with Türkiye to seize opportunities, strengthen cooperation, and bring China-Türkiye strategic cooperative relations to a new level, so as to benefit the two countries and the two peoples.
The forum was jointly organized by the Türkiye-China Business Development and Support Association and CINSIAD.
