On May 11, 2022, Ambassador Liu Shaobin met with Mr. Çağlayan Çetin, President of Trendyol, Turkey’s largest e-commerce platform.

President Çetin said that Trendyol has grown into the largest e-commerce platform in Turkey and a leading Tech company in the business. Trendyol attaches great importance to strengthening friendly cooperation with China. It has further explored regional and international markets through its strong alliance with China’s Alibaba Group since 2018, which represents a model of Turkey-China economic and trade cooperation. Trendyol has full confidence in its joint efforts with China to make greater achievements in developing Turkish and international markets, and will actively promote Silk Road e-commerce and contribute to the Belt and Road cooperation between Turkey and China.

Ambassador Liu commended the fruitful cooperation between Trendyol and Alibaba Group. He noted that China and Turkey are both major developing countries and important emerging markets. The two countries have broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of digital economy and e-commerce under the framework of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. It is hoped that Trendyol will make persistent efforts to make greater contributions to cooperation between China and Turkey and the construction of the Digital Silk Road, so as to benefit the people of China and Turkey as well as the countries along the Belt and Road.
