On April 21, 2022, Ambassador Liu Shaobin paid a visit to Kumport Terminal in Istanbul. The project is jointly invested by COSCO SHIPPING, China Merchants Group and China Investment Group.

During the visit, Ambassador Liu Shaobin commended outstanding achievements of the management team, stressing that Kumport Terminal is a key project of China-Turkey Belt and Road cooperation. It is hoped that the management team will step up their efforts to improve risk assessment, guarantee safe production, effectively coordinate between production and Covid-19 response measures and actively fulfill social responsibilities, in order to contribute to the deepening of Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries and strengthening of China-Turkey ties.

Mr. Wu Jian, Acting Consul General of the Consulate General of China in Istanbul, and Mr. Liu Yuhua, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy attended the event.
