On March 9, 2022, Ambassador Liu Shaobin met with Dr. Uğur Erdener, Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and President of the National Olympic Committee of Turkey.

President Erdnell praised the Beijing Olympic Winter Games as one of the most successful Olympics he has ever witnessed. He was deeply impressed by effective COVID-19 pandemic measures, venue facilities, organization of events, logistical support among others. All IOC members and athletes were very satisfied with Beijing 2022. The Games has made history, being exemplary in celebrating peace with sports and solidarity. Erdnell once again extended his heartfelt congratulations to China.

Ambassador Liu said that with the joint efforts of China and the international community, the Beijing Olympic Winter Game achieved a full success. We have presented to the world a streamlined, safe and splendid Games. Beijing 2022 is not only a success for China, but also a success for the world. It represents not just the triumph of sport but, more importantly, the triumph of solidarity. The Beijing Olympic Winter Games has inspired mankind to march forward in unity and with cooperation, bringing hope and confidence to the world. It also showcases how China shoulders its responsibility as a major country. Ambassador Liu expressed his sincere appreciation to the Turkish Olympic Committee and President Erdnell in particular, who have given strong support to Beijing 2022.
