On December 13, 2022, at the invitation of Middle East Technical University of Türkiye, Ambassador Liu Shaobin paid a visit to the university and gave a lecture on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). More than 60 teachers and students from the university attended the lecture.

Ambassador Liu briefed the audience on the major achievements and far-reaching significance of the 20th CPC National Congress, elaborating on the Chinese characteristics, essential requirements,value of the times and world influence of the Chinese path to modernization, as well as China’s foreign policy and main propositions. He emphasized that China has always been committed to its foreign policy goals of upholding world peace and promoting common development, and it is dedicated to building a human community with a shared future.

Ambassador Liu said that the blueprint for China’s future development formulated by the 20th CPC National Congress will bring new opportunities and fresh impetus to China-Türkiye relations and our mutually beneficial cooperation. It is hoped that China and Türkiye will enhance political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges. China attaches great importance to the exchanges between the universities of the two countries and the important role of the youth in the development of China-Türkiye relations. It is expected that Turkish students will enhance their understanding of the importance of China-Türkiye friendship, actively participate in the friendship cause, and contribute to the development of the two countries and the happiness of the two peoples.

The lecture was well received. Ambassador Liu answered questions from teachers and students about the opportunities brought by China’s new development and China-Türkiye relations.
