On November 1st, 2022, Ambassador Liu Shaobin attended China-Türkiye Business Conference jointly hosted by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK), the General Chamber of Commerce of Chinese Enterprises in Türkiye (ÇİNSİAD) and the Chamber of Commerce of Private Chinese Enterprises in Türkiye.

Ambassador Liu brierfed the Chinese and Turkish business communities on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), stressing that its most important achievement is the election of the new central leadership with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, which reflects the common will of the whole Party and people across the country. Under the continued leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the guidance of the Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a New Era, we will be able to continue opening new chapters for socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and strive to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Ambassador Liu said that from this day forward, the central task of the Communist Party of China will be to lead the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in a concerted effort to realize the Second Centenary Goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects and to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. The concept of Chinese modernization is in line with the Chinese context and the needs of the Chinese people. It follows the trend of the times and will bring important opportunities to countries around the world and make even greater contributions to human progress.

Ambassador Liu stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Türkiye over 50 years ago, our bilateral relationship has gone through an extraordinary journey and kept a sound momentum of development. In recent years, with the commitment of our two presidents, the two countries worked together to deepen politiccal, economic and trade, people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, bringing important benefits to both sides. China is willing to join hands with the Turkish side to seize opportunities, eliminate disturbing factors, and promote sound and stable development of bilateral relations. First, we must be committed to improving political mutual trust. Mutually understanding and supporting each other’s core interests and major concerns are the political basis that ensure stability and prospects of our relations. Second, we must explore untapped potential to improve the level of concrete  cooperation. Third, we must strive to shape the correct mutual perception to lay a sound social and public foundation for China-Türkiye strategic cooperative relations. Fourth, we must strengthen global and regional cooperation, practice true multilateralism, jointly oppose zero-sum game and bloc confrontation, and maintain peace and stability of the region as well as the world.

The participants from the business community warmly congratulated on the success of the CPC 20th National Congress, and expected that China’s new development will bring new opportunities to China-Türkiye cooperation.
