On June 23, 2022, Ambassador Liu Shaobin attended the opening ceremony of the China-Türkiye Economic Cooperation Conference and delivered a speech.
Ambassador Liu Shaobin said that under the guidance of our two heads of state, China-Türkiye strategic cooperative relations have been deepened, and the synergy between Belt and Road Initiative and Middle Corridor Plan have yielded fruitful results. As representatives of emerging economies, China and Türkiye should further strengthen solidarity, tap potential and deepen cooperation, so as to make due contributions to the common development of the two countries as well as the enduring prosperity and stability of the world.
Ambassador Liu noted that at present, profound changes unseen in a century intertwined with the Covid-19 pandemic have brought great turbulence to the world. The Ukraine crisis is further threatening the global political, economic and security order, causing turmoil in the international financial, energy and food markets. The global economic recovery is losing momentum. In face of multiple threats, China has taken the initiative to maintain stable economic development by overcoming difficulties and adapting to changes. The fundamentals of China’s steady and long-term sound economic growth have not changed. Based on the new development stage, we will uphold the new development philosophy and create a new development dynamic. China is opening its door wider to the outside world, improving business environment and creating more development opportunities. We welcome companies from all over the world, including Türkiye, to invest and start businesses in China, exploring the Chinese market, competing fairly in the market and sharing China’s development dividends.
Ambassador Liu said that China will host the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) this November. With the theme of “New Era, Shared Future”, this year’s CIIE will continue to give full play to the four major platforms of international purchasing, investment promotion, people-to-people exchanges, as well as openness and cooperation, and to improve the effectiveness of the exhibition so that the exhibitors could meet more potential partners and nail down more cooperation agreements. We welcome Turkish enterprises to actively participate in the exhibition and will provide you with a series of support measures, so as to bring more high-quality products and services from Türkiye to Chinese households, and inject a greater momentum to the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Türkiye.
In their speeches, representatives of the business communities from China and Türkiye highly appreciated the achievements in China-Türkiye relations, especially the concrete cooperation between the two countries. They said the business communities of both countries should join hands to strengthen cooperation, continuously optimize trade structure and increase cooperation in the fields of digital economy and green economy, so as to make positive contributions to the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between China and Türkiye. The Turkish side stressed that the Turkish business community attaches great importance to and actively supports China’s CIIE. They will encourage more enterprises to participate, seek business opportunities and expand cooperation.
The China-Türkiye Economic Cooperation Conference is co-organized by ÇİNSİAD and TÜSİAD. Mr. Zhou Yanquan, President of ÇİNSİAD, Mr. Orhan Turan, President of TÜSİAD, and representatives of entrepreneurs from both sides attended the conference and exchanged views on the opportunities and challenges of China-Türkiye cooperation under the current situation.
