Question: The press release of the Turkish foreign ministry dated 26th of November paid attention to reasons of the fire in Urumqi city of Xinjiang. What’s your comment?  

Embassy Spokesperson: As a matter of fact, on the night of 25th November, the press office of the Urumqi People’s Government held a press conference on the fire accident. It provided detailed information about the reasons of the fire, as well as the timely and effective measures that had been taken. Chinese media and news websites reported the press conference at the earliest opportunity. I hope the Turkish side will resort to Chinese authoritative channels more for news about China.    

I want to point out that no one is more committed to Chinese people’s safety and well-being than the Chinese Government. We will continue to put people and their lives first , and make utmost efforts to handle the remaining tasks.
